Environmental Rides

The environmental pollution is a hot and urgent issue globally. Among many serious proplems are global warming, air pollution, acid rain, coastal cities’ disappearance, ecosystem’s changes, extinction of many species, and endangerment for other wildlife. Thus, one of the eight MGDs of the United Nations is to sustain the envirmental development.

Hanoi is also not an exception. The pollution level in Hanoi is on a speedy rise. The increase in number of private means of transportation results in the growth of toxic gas in the air, not only monthly or weekly, but daily. Besides, the trade of wildlife is a more and more serious problem faced by the city authorities. In addition, uncontrolled waste contributes partially in the downgrade of environment and bad effect on face of a country capital.

For these reasons, we need urgent and practical solutions. One of the most feasible and effective solutions is to raise community awareness about environment and sustainable development by disseminating information, knowledge on environment and simple ways to prevent it from being destroyed by pollution.

Voters: If selected, NA candidates must keep their promises

Updated on 5/18/2007 at 17:17

According to the Vietnam Fatherland Front, on average, each National Assembly candidate had at least 10 meetings with voters. It has also said that the meetings were held in an open, democratic and constructive manner.

The VFF has also said that NA candidates’ action plans had been presented concisely.

Through the meetings, voters nationwide asked candidates, if selected, to keep their promises and realize their action plans.

They also said that NA deputies should keep regular contact with people to understand their aspirations.

They also stressed to increase the renewal of law-making so that adopted laws should be more feasible and suitable to socio-economic development and become a tool to protect people’s legitimate right and interest.

The collection of voters’ ideas of the VFF shows that voters pay special attention to intensify corruption and wastefulness prevention and administrative reform.
